Indian Govt Launches An eGreeting Portal on Occasion of 68th Independence Day

On occasion of 68th Indian Independence Day, Government of India has launched an e-Greeting portal to send the best wishes through internet. On evening of 15th August 2014, Communication and IT minister, Mr Ravi Prasad, unveil the e greeting portal.

According to Mr. Ravi Prasad, it is an eco-friendly way to send greetings on occasion of various festival. And they want to congratulate the IT department who come up with this great idea.

To send this greeting, you must be the registered user of NIC Email Service for now. However they ensure that the portal would be available of all in coming days.

This is the first step of Indian govt to make India a digital country as said by Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

Mr. RS Sharma, the secretary of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DEITY) said that they choose 14 out of 3,572 greeting for website in which 6 greetings were made by DEITY. All 14 greeting designs have been chosen by department for cash prize to encourage more people for participating and submitting more designs.

The Portal also allows users to select a quote of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to be sent as part of the greeting.
