Google Authorship Pictures Will No Longer Appear in Search Engine Results

Google is going to make another big update in search engine result page. Google Webmaster Trends Analyst, John Mueller has announced on Google+ that the author photo from the regular search engine result page is about to go away. Now, search result will appear with the byline of author’s name only.

Muller has update on his Google Plus – “We’ve been doing lots of work to clean up the visual design of our search results… As a part of this, we’re simplifying the way authorship is shown in mobile and desktop search results, removing the profile photo and circle count.

Mueller has also explained that this new update in SERP will not affect the CTR of any website. So, the question is why they have removed the author’s photo from the SERP?

Google also removed the Google+ circle counts from author information in SERP. However, Google will still show the author information with the latest look. Only the author byline and posting date will appear with the website.
